At Bethany, we’re passionate about encountering God through art and beauty. If you play, sing, dance, or want to learn, this is the place for you.
The Bethany Music Ministry is multigenerational and multiethnic. We enjoy bringing people together to make music and worship the Lord. Our “Joy, He Shall Reign” video features participants from all areas of the Bethany music ministry from the youngest to the oldest. We also strive for our music selections to reflect the people in our congregation and community. Our “Breathe” video is an example of how we bring other languages into the worship service. We also enjoy leaning into worship genres that reflect the diversity within our congregation. “Amen” is originally written and performed by Baltimore based gospel artist Anthony Brown. Adult Choir
The Adult Choir is open to anyone who enjoys worshiping in song. This choir is multigenerational and full of diversity. No singing experience is needed. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 6 – 7 pm. The Adult Choir sings anthems in Sunday worship services and presents other Concerts and Productions throughout the year.
Young Adult Band
Our Young adults band rehearses on selected Sunday afternoons and enjoys making music performance videos, leading live worship, and providing special music for special programs and regular worship services at Bethany. You can find several of our Young Adult Band recordings on YouTube.
Student Bands
Our students are creative and active in leading worship. The High School Band and Middle School Band rehearse weekly on Wednesdays from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm. The Middle School Band rehearses weekly on Wednesdays from 5:45 pm – 6:30 pm. These students regularly lead worship for Wednesday “Gather” meetings for the Bethany Church student ministry. Student Band members also serve on the multigenerational worship team ministry at Bethany Church. Check out our music videos to see the music and worship we have cultivated together. The students also have their own worship band day camp for one week each year. Music Week is typically held in August. Students enjoy learning music technology, live sound engineering, worship band jam sessions, and lessons with professional instructors. Children’s Music
Children at Bethany have many opportunities to explore their creative gifts in music and the arts. Bethany Music Center is an outreach ministry of Bethany of Church serving families in the area of the arts. In addition to free weekly children’s music classes, Bethany Music Center provides fee-based summer music and arts camps 2023 Summer Camps – Bethany Music Center, piano camp, and fee-based private lessons Private Lessons – Bethany Music Center from professional degreed musicians. Children’s music classes Children’s Music Classes – Bethany Music Center are offered on Wednesdays during the school year from 5:45 pm – 6:30 pm. We currently have a class for preschool children and a class for grades 1 – 5. Coming soon, we will be offering Musik Garten preschool music classes during the day taught by a Musik Garten certified teacher. Christmas Walk of Wonder
The Christmas Walk of Wonder is an outdoor event designed to combine the sights and sounds of the season with interactive and thoughtful engagement around the story of Christmas. The Walk of Wonder path takes attendees on a journey to seven beautifully and thematically decorated trees revealing the story of Jesus tree by tree. A live animal nativity brings Bethlehem to Ellicott City as attendees enjoy a live concert featuring Bethany Choirs, Student Bands, and Children’s Choir. The synthetic ice rink is open for skating and concessions are available with warm snacks and treats. Bethany Church brings the Christmas Walk of Wonder to the community for FREE because God freely gives us the gift of His Son, Jesus. Although the event is free, donations and sponsorships are welcomed.
