Beginning September 2025
Overview: Our study of Genesis will continue as we dive into the dramatic story of Joseph. We will explore his betrayal by his brothers, his abduction, and subsequent sale to an Ishmaelite caravan headed to Egypt. This portion of Scripture challenges us to reflect on how our life’s plans and dreams can be disrupted by those closest to us, including family. We will also witness how God’s goodness prevails even when our dreams are shattered or hijacked by others. Throughout Joseph’s journey, we will see how God’s sovereign plans unfold, often without us even realizing it, and how His purposes continue to work, regardless of the circumstances.
Additionally, we will build on our previous exploration of God’s promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, reflecting on how believers today are partakers of those promises as “heirs according to promise” (Galatians 3:29).
