Pastor Kip joined Bethany Church in September of 1991 after receiving his Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Pastor Kip was called into ministry after a successful career in business as a Certified Public Accountant. He has found that his business experience helps him keep sermons relevant, addressing real life issues. His favorite verse is Psalm 34:8, “Taste of the Lord and see that He is good!,” his favorite chapter in the Bible, John 15, and his favorite field of study is eschatology, the study of last-day events.

Sherrie received her call into ministry as a child attending church camp through the Nazarene Church. Sherrie was ordained by Bethany Church in 2002. Sherrie is a professional cellist and uses the cello frequently in leading worship. Sherrie has written original scripts for both Christmas and Easter dramatic musical presentations. Sherrie created “Bethany Music Center” in 2016 as an expansion of the worship arts ministry focused on providing professional music instruction to the community at large.
Minister to Youth
Dennis Allen joined Bethany Church in 1998 as our Minister to Youth. Prior to becoming our youth pastor, Dennis worked for the Department of Defense as an Electrical Engineer. His degrees include a Master of Science in Systems Engineering (Johns Hopkins) and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Lawrence Institute of Technology). After becoming our Minister to Youth in 1998, Dennis earned his Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southeastern Theological Seminary in 2000. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry from Southeastern. Dennis was ordained by Bethany Church in 2005.
Dennis’ contribution to the spiritual health of Generation Hope, our youth, is immeasurable. Just as key to the success of the missioin of Bethany Church has been Dennis’ technical expertise as an electrical engineer. Without him, much of what we have done over the years through Eastern and Christmas Pageants and concerts would not have occurred.
Minister to Children
From the age of eleven, God planted a love of children in Rachel’s heart. She began helping in the nursery at her church; and when her family was called to manage a Baptist youth camp in the mountains of New Mexico, Rachel came to personal salvation. God’s plan continued to progress in her heart to include a Seminary degree in Christian education. Rachel puts it this way, “I am blessed beyond measure to have been called to full time ministry and to Bethany Church in 2004.” Rachel also has a Bachelor of Science from Angelo State University and a Master of Arts – Christian Education, from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Minister of Admin & Communications
Kate is deeply passionate about sharing the gospel and pouring her life in the discipleship of others. It is her mission that others experience what she has experienced in 1 John 1:3-4. Kate was called into the ministry in 1989 when God laid a burden in her heart to reach the lost thru missions work. God has provided her with many opportunities to grow and work in many cross-cultural situations.
Kate has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. She was pursuing studies in Missions from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary when she met and married Rev. Ken Crummitt, who is on staff at our Columbia Campus. Kate and Ken are blessed with two beautiful daughters whom they are privileged to home school.
Ed Sheridan is the Lord’s answer to anything and everything that a pastoral staff needs in the ways of facilities and operations management (and “other,” as requested). Ed has the added distinction of being a full-time volunteer. His eternal benefits of course are greater than all of us combined!
